The challenge: Produce a 92 minute live webcast featuring a new product launch in a very active manufacturing facility in Riverside, California. There will need to be a minimum of three cameras, a Powerpoint deck with slides that would need to be triggered on cue, live camera swapping, lower thirds to highlight each presenter, and staging changes during the presentation. This is for a company that is one of 11 division of a Fortune 500 Global fluids transfer conglomerate. The event will need to broadcast to an audience of 100+ in 12+ countries including Asia, Europe and EMEA. There will be 9 department Vice Presidents feeding content to Ree-Source (event producer and director) who will need to decipher and organize the content. Oh, and there can be no mistakes.
The process: The site review revealed many challenges including welding, fork truck activity and loud noises from the manufacturing facility. Much of the content was late in arriving for placement in to the Tri-Caster, and there were countless changes to the content that was arriving late. Frantically, the crew was able to get the power back on and the ‘live’ webcast was produced without a hitch. Whew!
The result: This was a first webcast for the PSG division of Dover Corporation (DOV: NYSE) and ultimately exceeded the goals of a high quality ‘live’ presentation to specific industry media channels, allowing for a significant reduction of marketing cost. Furthermore…
The Webcast was a part of an Award Winning Campaign:

At the core of the studio simulated ‘on-factory-site’ production was a NewTek Tricaster 330 switch which integrated three HD video cameras, 4 people on mic, 5 three minute video files played at various times throughout the presentation, plus two PowerPoint presentations were choreographed into the 90 minute live event. The live stream fed through LiveStream.com services at a remarkable 1280 X 720 resolution. Nearly 200 participants logged in from many countries around the world.
